VALPADANA INNOVATIONS AT EIMA 2008

Valpadana’s never-ending desire for innovation has produced an increasingly more advanced range with new engines, modern looks and technological features of the very highest level. But that’s not all. Valpadana is watching out for the future of the agricultural sector with the utmost attention, studying the priorities and the need for machinery, and responding to the farmers’ requirements by introducing new models or tailor-made versions. The result is an increasingly more comprehensive, up to date and accessorized range, presented at Eima 2008 as the concrete answer to a constantly evolving farming world that’s extremely diversified, one in which groundbreaking, efficient and reliable machines are a must in all power brackets.

New VP1500 Series
The excellent image acquired by the VP1500 Series encouraged the Marketing Management to keep the name and repeat the success achieved with the new Series as well.
The 1500 series has been subjected to an important restyling process, the intention being to improve the design, make the cockpit more comfortable and optimize the performance thanks to the new Tier 3 engines used.
Thus the 1500 series has been given a completely new look, featuring the tilting bonnet that’s ideal for utility and specialistic machines. The bonnet has been designed to combine an attractive look with easy access to those engine components that require routine maintenance. The cockpit is also new, with a layout whereby the controls have all been arranged in accordance with the most modern ergonometric standards. Thus the operator will find it very comfortable to work with both the footstep and cab versions.
Designed as a true synthesis of technology, the VP1500 Series comprises models 1540-1545-1550-1555 and is equipped with 35 to 54 HP 3 and 4-cylinder Yanmar engines.
Model 55 has a turbo engine and external EGR as required by Tier 3 standards, and represents the state-of-the-art of this particular power segment as to reliability and performance.
The range also features a rational and ergonomic gearbox with a fully synchronized reverse shuttle and a new hydraulic power lift with draft, position control and intermix plus 1200 kg lifting capacity.
But the 1500’s vocation remains the same, as it’s still a range designed for users who need a compact and easily handled utility tractor, ideal when space is at a premium, in greenhouses and between crop rows where all its versatility comes to the fore.

New VP4500 ISM Series
The VP4500 series includes the 25-29-36 HP equal-wheel versions with rear final drives. These models are designed for specialistic work in plantations with lots of foliage or between “Y” shaped crop rows where even the rear mudguard must be in a low position. The particular features of the product, such as: the completely independent PTO with oil-cooled multiple-plate clutch, the gearbox with 8FWD+4REV synchronized speeds and the oil-cooled multiple-plate internal brakes are still a prerogative of Valpadana. The front axle with built-in steering cylinder achieves wide steering angles that drastically reduce the space required for manoeuvres. The adjustable turret with transmission control levers positioned at the side of the steering wheel provide a cockpit that’s unique as to comfort and make it very easy to climb in and out of the machine.

New VP6400 Series
The 66 HP VP6475 series now includes the one-way equal-wheel versions and another two stage 3A engines with 46 and 55 HP power ratings. 6400 series tractors are plain and sturdy, thus dedicated to customers who require a functional product but with very low running costs. The basic transmission features 12FWD+12REV speeds with synchronized mechanical reverse shuttle and 540 RPM PTO mechanically engaged by means of a dedicated oil-cooled multiple-plate clutch. The mechanically controlled oil-cooled multiple-plate main clutch is housed in the central casing that reduces the front overhang to a considerable extent. The absolute innovation is the new front axle with built-in steering cylinder that achieves steering angles as tight as 50°. The result is surprising, since the internal turning radius of the VRM version is just 1.2 meters. The controls have been arranged in new positions, all on the steering wheel. This makes the cockpit spacious and comfortable, and ensures that work is much less stressing for the operator even after lengthy use. The auxiliary hydraulic circuit is completely independent and provides a flow rate of up to 40 l/min. The tractor can be equipped with the draft and position control functions for the implements and up to three double-acting control valves.

New VP9600 Series
This series is the result of experience acquired with the previous 6500 series. Be they steering or articulated, one-way or reversible, the 9600 series tractors all feature electronically monitored electrohydraulic drive reversing systems, and are yet again the only ones of their kind in the sector. The 80-89 HP engines are stage 3A, all 3.3 liter models and with truly record-breaking torque maintained at a 1200 to 1800 RPM engine rate. The first two feature mechanical injection with turbo and intercooler, while the higher powered version is electronically controlled. The transmission, with 40 kph top speed, has 16FWD+16REV speeds and 540/540E RPM PTO synchronized with the wheel turns. The chassis is the classic sort with overhanging engine and as much as 15° swing between axles so as to provide the utmost lugging power in even the most difficult situations. True to the most up to date demands from the market, the 9600 series has a fully independent auxiliary hydraulic circuit with 50 l/min maximum flow rate that supplies up to 5 double-acting control valves, one single-acting control valve with variable flow rate and a pneumatic implement suspension device, all controlled by means of the joystick. All versions will be available with the original air conditioned cab with all-round windows as well as the front PTO - power lift kit. Particular care has been taken with the cockpit, which is installed on a sprung platform and can be easily removed for supplementary maintenance or to replace worn parts. The total weight of the machine varies from 2000 to 2300 kg depending on the equipment installed, while the maximum lifting capacity at the rear ball ends is 2300 kg.
